Old wine in a new Bottle........

Yesterday I saw a really heart warming sight, at a restaurant the table next to me was taken by a family of four Mom, Dad, Daughter and Grandpa....Now this wouldn't have been an extraordinary sight but for the fact that it was a trendy Italian restaurant usually known for its chic crowd....Grandpa was visibly out of place but the grand-daughter made an effort to put him to ease.....
She was a 12 year old girl who explained in her own novice way everything on the menu which she liked and wanted to order.....Grandpa who was new to the whole Italian jing-bang didn't want to disappoint her, he ordered a beer and enjoined the rest of the evening with his family....
That just made me wonder are Indian values really depreciating or are we just repackaging our value systems to fit better into today's day and age.....
Its not that we have stoppped loving our elders our ways to express it has undergone a change...."Today its more lemme take you out for dinner grandpa" than lemme touch your feet for blessings.....
Couple of days back I saw a baby girl in clinging onto her father through the entire mass at the church.....Here Dad didnt look the very conventional types ......He wore a Nirvana T-shirt...sported a tattoo and had a couple of piercings......Nt tht I judge a person by their exterior but if he wasnt with his daughter I would have thought that the guy is a doper.....May b its bcoz I carry image of my Dad in mind...the conventional 80s and 90s Dad.........blue shirt, black pant......
Nice to know that cool Dudes can be Super cool Dads as well......
This just goes to show that we have externally adopted ourselves into a consumerist India but still deep down Indian value systems have been deeply woven into each of us......Values are not eroding they just getting remodeled to better suit a Global Indian...
On the way out wen the LimBizkit kind of Dad drew a holy water cross on his little girl's forehead I knew God was watching over us.....we are all in safe hands....and Dooms day is no where near!!
Amen.....

Kochuvartavanam......Small Talk

I have been an avid blog reader but never really thought of writing my own blog....the reasons being many...for starters there are so many brilliant writers in this space that I don't think I would have made an iota of value addition to the world of Internet literature.....secondly sheer inertia on my part to take up an activity that requires constant attention and dedication....

Then why now???
There is a sudden urge to connect to more people..communicate with more human souls...This seems to be the easiest way to do so.....
This is a very amateur attempt...and my writing might be influenced by the veteran bloggers whom I regularly read.....please don't consider this as plagiarism

I start this blog with a prayer to almighty that my blog doesn't land up among millions of other activities I started and left half way through....
